The Shanghai branch of the Literary Research Association [Wen xue yan jiu hui] organized a collection among its members to cover the costs of printing out a set of six postcards bearing the photographic portraits of famours foreign writers. The advertisement was entitled "All lovers of literature and art, please buy : Writers' postcards".
