Er schreibt : "Among the genres of poetry, essay, novel, and drama, poetry is the most difficult to translate, especially from English into a language as distant as Chinese. The language of poetry is refined, allusive, subtle, and elusive, it is very hard to reproduce all of the aspects that constitute the experience of poetry."
